Miss Annabel founder and teacher at Annabel's School of Dance Killay Swansea

Annabel's love and passion for dance started at the age of four as she grew up completing her RAD grades in Swansea.

During her university years, she performed and competed across the UK in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and jazz, while also choreographing for the ballet competition team and teaching ballet for the university dance society.

She continued her training at Pineapple Studios in London before beginning an enriching chapter at The Royal Ballet School, working at both White Lodge in Richmond and the Upper School in Covent Garden. There, she supported auditions and intensive courses gaining invaluable insight into elite training environments and developing strong safeguarding knowledge through her pastoral work in the Upper School boarding house.

After returning to Swansea, Annabel completed her PGCE at Swansea University, becoming a qualified primary school teacher and deepening her understanding of pedagogy and holistic child development.

Alongside her primary teaching career, she continues her own CPD through advanced ballet, contemporary, and jazz classes, and teaches adult ballet classes at local dance schools. Annabel is also undertaking Royal Academy of Dance training to expand her teaching expertise ready to teach future RAD classes.

Annabel will be working at the Royal Ballet Schools Cardiff Associate Centre from September 2026 on a Saturday. This new associate centre is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Welsh dancers.

Annabel’s journey blends lifelong dance experience with professional educational expertise, giving her a unique foundation for nurturing confident, creative dancers.

Our Philosophy

At Annabel’s School of Dance in Swansea our philosophy is rooted in the belief that dance should nurture the whole child through the mind, body, and confidence. With the unique blend of Miss Annabels primary teaching experience in Swansea and lifelong passion for dance, we create a supportive, balanced learning environment where every child feels seen, encouraged, and inspired.

Our small, community‑focused classes in Killay-Swansea allow children to grow at their own pace while building strong foundations in creativity, coordination, and self‑expression. Beginning with pre‑graded ballet for ages 3-5 to gently introduce young dancers to the joy of movement, with RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus training soon to follow as they progress.

Our goal is simple: to help every child thrive, feel proud of themselves, and fall in love with dance.
